• Give regularly and make donating blood a regular habit. Healthy blood donors can give every 56 days.

Civil War Blood Drive:
Rivals For Life

SInce 2002, the American Red Cross, Lane Memorial Blood Bank, Oregon State University Alumni Association and the University of Oregon Alumni Association have partnered in a two-week campaign to increase community blood donations.

There have been some close contests over the years as the traveling trophy passes between the Beavers and the Ducks. But no matter the score, at the end of Civil War, hospital patients are the real winners knowing that blood is available if it's needed.

* The University of Oregon claimed the first annual statewide Civil War Blood Drive title based on goals achieved at campus blood drives. Subsequent years' winners are based solely on total statewide donations.
